Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 17, 2026

At BlackScreen.live (https://blackscreen.live) we keep this site as low-collection as we can — most of what's described below comes from third-party services we use for ads and analytics, not from us directly.

What we collect ourselves

BlackScreen.live is a browser-based diagnostic site. You do not need an account or personal information to use any of the tools. We do not collect names, addresses, or payment details.

Our server logs may record standard request data — IP address, browser user-agent, referrer, and timestamp — for security and abuse prevention. These logs are not linked to your identity and are not used for advertising.

If you email us via our contact page or submit monitor test results through the community form (which opens your mail client), we'll have whatever you sent us until you ask us to delete it.

Cookies, ads, and analytics

This site uses two third-party services that may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser:

  • Google AdSense — serves the ads you see on the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. You can also learn more in Google's advertising privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
  • Google Analytics (GA4) — measures aggregated traffic. We do not collect personally identifying information through it. You can install Google's official opt-out add-on to disable GA across all sites.

Other certified ad networks or vendors may also use cookies to serve ads on this site. Where those vendors provide opt-out choices, you can use their own privacy tools or the industry opt-out page at aboutads.info/choices.

Your choice (Consent Mode)

BlackScreen.live uses Google Consent Mode v2. The first time you visit the site we show a banner with two options:

  • Accept all — we allow ad and analytics cookies, including personalised advertising.
  • Reject all — we keep ads and analytics in a no-cookie / non-personalised mode. Ads may still appear, but they will not be tailored to you using cookies on this site.

Either way, your choice is stored locally in your browser (in localStorage under the key bs_consent) and is not sent to us. You can change your mind at any time by re-opening the consent banner or clearing your browser storage for this site.

Where required by law (for example in the EU/UK/EEA), our default is to deny ad and analytics cookies until you accept. Functionality and security cookies — which keep the site working — are always allowed.

How long we keep things

We don't store personal data on our own servers beyond what's described above. Cookies set by Google have their own retention rules, listed in Google's privacy policy linked above. If you've emailed us, we keep that correspondence until you ask us to delete it.

Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)

If you live in the EU, UK, EEA, or California, you have rights that include:

  • Access — to know what (if anything) we hold about you.
  • Rectification — to correct anything inaccurate.
  • Erasure — to ask us to delete what we hold about you.
  • Objection / withdrawal of consent — for ads and analytics, you can revoke consent at any time via the banner described above.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Children

BlackScreen.live is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please email us at [email protected] and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the services we use evolve. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site after we update this page constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
