Why Use a Blue Screen?

A full blue screen is a practical utility for display diagnostics and content creation. It targets the blue subpixels of your monitor and provides an alternative color for background removal.

1. Testing Blue Subpixels

LCD and OLED screens create colors by mixing Red, Green, and Blue. By filling your screen with pure blue (#0000FF), you can isolate and inspect the blue subpixels. If you see a tiny black dot, it means a blue subpixel is dead.

2. Alternative Chroma Key

While green screens are the standard, blue screens ("Blue Screen") are often used in movies when the actor is wearing green clothing (to avoid them disappearing). You can use this tool as a digital blue background for your video projects.

3. Mood Lighting

Blue light is energetic and cool. Turning your screen blue can change the atmosphere of a room for photography or set design, creating a "cyberpunk" or "night" aesthetic.
